No Fuss Pizza Dough
No Fuss Pizza Dough Recipe
One of the reasons I love this pizza dough recipe so much is it's "everybody in the pool" (to quote Guy Fieri). I like my recipes easy "no muss no fuss" you know what I'm talking about. I'm a busy mom I have no time for persnickety dough that sticks to everyone and everything. Pizza night in our house is a fun family time and I want to focus on that, this tried and true pizza dough recipe lets me do that.
Ingredients:
4 C flour, plus more for rolling the dough out
1 tsp. sugar
2 1/4 tsp. of dry yeast (one envelope)
2 tsp. of salt
1 1/2 C of warm water
2 Tbsp. olive oil, plus 2 tsp.
Instructions:
1. Throw everything into a mixing bowl, a stand mixer works the best. Although sometimes I like to just use my hands, it's up to you.
2. Mix until the dough comes together and starts pulling away from the sides of the bowl. If the dough seems really sticky add a little more flour. If it seems really dry add a little more warm water.
3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 min. pushing and stretching the dough as you go. You are developing the gluten's at this stage you want them stretched! The dough should form a nice tight ball when you're done.
4. Grease the mixing bowl with the remaining olive oil and add the dough, cover with plastic wrap and let that baby sit! (about 1 hour in a warm place).
5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and divide into 2 equal pieces. Roll each ball out to desired size, shape and thickness.
Optional.
6. Personally I like to pre- bake the crust a little so to do that I grease a pan and bake the dough at 425 degrees for about 8 to 10 min. Checking on it regularly.
